Cell phones should only be avialable to married people whom have kids.

Because of not only the physical damage from radiation they do to the brain and also reproductive organs... 

But how they alter the neuroplasticity from the mind. Addiction, dopamine, melatonin suppression. 

Why are more guys staying single? 
Because unlike the older generation without smartphones, which had nothing else better to do than find a wife, the smartphone has create an other "low resistant option". 

A guy can get as much satisfaction from using a smartphone without the need of dating a woman. 

Okay that sounds crazy, but is it really? The device is in constant tug-of-war for our attention and time and energy. 

Time and attention that could be spent thinking about a loved one.

supposed to write a testimony for SBC


The first time I went over to Sandakan was during the semester break of my first year in university in Jan 2015. I was helping out in the Forest Research Centre. Knowing I was a Christian, my supervisor Eyen hooked me up with Herbert and his family. I can remember standing at the bus stop inside Mile 14 and Emily coming to pick me up for church. We found out later from chatting that Herbert knew my brother too! What a small world we Christians have when everyone is part of the big family of Christ. In that short two weeks, somehow knew I was going to return here one day. And sure enough about 2 years later I came back for my internship and stayed another 2 more years in 2017 & 2018. I joined SBC and the Dandelion cell group, which are an amazing bunch of people, I fondly remember how much help, support, joy and laughter they brought. Eyen would give me a lift after work on Friday to the Devan’s where I could spend the weekend (being a baby sitter for Erwin and Elly). And on the days I couldn’t, Joel would drive all the way to pick me up on Sunday mornings! The nights were filled with either Catan board games, movies at the only cinema in Sandakan or supper at Mile 4’s Kim Fung Market. I love eating tang ko mian (Rubber band noodles). Talk about divine connections, there was also the Tawaiyari Mission team and trip where I met Ps Yuyut and later on would come to meet his son studying in UMS, Yuseley. We would occasionally bump into each other here in KK.

1. Vision: what is your end goal. What do you want to achieve
Not how much I have and how far I can go. I.e. How much resources I have.
Everyone can implement, but not everyone can achieve what you want.

Gray seat, great people. Don't need to invest in the white seat.

How do we... What is the strategy.. Then only count money. What you want to get at, then only plan back words.

People and processes.
Content plus resources.

We know what we need already,
So we raised funds.

Have a vision,
Know what you need,

2. Moral leadership
If your leading an organisation that didn't pay people, people aren't coming to work because of the payment.

My frist reaction: let us not tell anyone.

If its a organisation which is not beneficial, pays well, etc... What will make people stick is moral leadership.

let us out up the best of us, but if it's not the true one. The moment you do it, the members become demotivated. People follow you because you do what is right.

When the leaders do not do what is right, the people that will follow will do what is not right.

How a motivated team cam reach an extraordinary goal.

Small group of committed and passionate people to achieve that goal.
Many things she wants to do. Inexperienced. How to start?

1st month: understand the thing
2: who are you going to bring into your core team

Realize your weaknesses. Secretary General is 60 years old. How will he be convinced that you can lead him? Competency is important, you need to know your stuff, nothing beats hard work. Continuesly read and talk to experience people in the sector. High ranking people, listen attentively. If there is one thing you want to make a change, what would it be? What they say, what words they use, their jargon or the sector. The one thing that everyone say you must do, is probably it.

Confidence and competency.

There is no free lunch. You have to know your thing. Read.

Core values. Centre-left. People will stand together and make it.
Organisation moves when the leader makes the call after consulting the grassroots, that they are listened too and not disconnected from them. Preach the dicision to the group people before..

I.e. Dicision to split with PAS. Will lose power.

How to adapt back?
It takes time.

The cooporste culture. More respectful to the boss. Reverse cultural shock. Accept and enjoy the country again.

Parents. Pastor. Party members.

Leading imperfect people.

There is not sacred, secular devide.
Integrity, excellence.

Decisions that you make in a party carry a moral element. Don't compromise your integrity. There will be people that disagree and don't like it.

Q6. How do you deal with the people under you. A comfortable organisation into something new.

Quick wins. Small wins. People will get motivated. Let's do a little more.

Lets wait until mxt year.. Financial not in a greement. People don't believe that it'll pass. Pegawai change. They can change it. Next week we get it pass instead of two years.

When people gain confidence, they want to do more.
Recognising their contribution.
Create a competitive environment, based on merit.

What drives you?
The vision, know what you want to achieve.
Remember what the Bible says. The talents. What do you do with what you have.

How do you be a good and faithful servent if you don't do what small things to the best you can.

Sometimes it's not motivation. But move too fast that the people behind you can follow. Can they see it too and belong?

Move from leaderships position. Into permission... Into production.

Think big, but start small. Then you can build deep.

Don't work when nobody is working, because nothing is productive.

You will get sad. Hobby. Remember your vision. Who placed me there? God.

Don't di many thiggs to deal with disappointments.

Q8. Senior leaders to you, if they make a morally decision wrong. How do you follow?

Subordiance. First, listen to them. Understand if it's wrong. Don't make the division then. Constituency. Give me two days..

Peers. Close to me, talk to them, listen. I'm a selfish person. If I know they won't listen to me, then I will save my gas. If its really wrong. Go to macc. Some ministers know their ministries better. So how can I tell them they are wrong.

If PM, don't.. Openly disagree with them. I want my team to openly debate. But in Asian context like or don't like. If you say it, he is going to close his heart and mind. Express a little concern. Can we delay the meeting. Speak to them personally, speak to those closes to them.

Don't let them loose face.

Its so amazing to see the panda for the first time. But after an hour.. We lose the wonder.

Christmas is one of the hardest things to preach about. Year after year...

The messy world of Matthew. Political oppression. Great social divide. 50% or the worlds wealth is owned by 8% of the people. Religious hipocracy. Laws but no spirit to it. Revolting terrorism. Simon the zealot was a terrorist. Unbridled corruption. Corruption is the number one problem in the whole world. This is the world that jesus came to.

That's what a shepard does. He sleeps where the sheep sleep, eat where they eat, go where they go.

A sign that God is accessible.
The God that owns everything..
There is no social system..

Jesus was a servant,
He got down on this knees and washed feet.

Why was he in a messy place?
Because he was in a messy plan.
Without it, what a mess we'll be in.

I look at my life. The mess I'm in.

Jesus was born into a very dark years.

Massacre... Killed two brother in laws.. Anyone that would threaten his throne.. Everyday..
Executed citizens on the day he died.. So that people would mourn...

"thank God we are not Herod"...

We think.. "this guy, I'm going to kill him"...

Jesus died for Herod..

God saw it differently..
Jesus is the author of hope.

Who is the hopeless?

post YLDP

so #hackerton happened over the past three days at id8
we tried to solve the problem of Oasis Place not being able to reach out to parents struggling to get help. digitization.

this would probably take a day of sitting down and just really brainstorming and trying to solve it.

mmhmm, on the first night we went to Jalan Alur for supper. man ,the food there's good. how come i dont go out to KL that often? Although i live so nearby. I guess i'm just so contended to be at home.

like today i play basket ball =) with some new peeps, uncle Tee, JY (or was it JT), Lukas and some other dude. It was goood. haven't had so much fun playing basketball in a while. i think my left tendon took a strain a lil though, and i did sooooo many ankle breakers! ultra boots is just not meant for lateral movements.

played badminton too! was quite fun. said no to Syanon sitting on the motorbike without a helmet back home. Actually its not too bad.. to say no.

watched a movie: The Game changers. on how James Wilks went veggie. lots of science behind how a plant based diet is soooo much better than eating meat. like arteries clear up and stuff. i think i'd try that for like .. 40 days or something.

i wanna be a barefoot, vegetarian, soap-free, no-poo, feature phone, minimalist .. haha

also bought a Raizen VS-1 volt stabilizer for Jim's car (so much for minimalism), no idea if it works, and the HKS grounding cables? haha dad made me go back to the shop to return them. they were nice, atleast i could swap them out for some other item. got another useless item: magnetic fuel saver.. lolll... why do i keep falling prey to all these lousy marketing

i should really try to save money.

saw a nokia dumb phone in the house.. ahhh so tempted to take and use it.

anyways.. gosh i just spent like.. half and hour browsing for dumb phones, what a waste of time!

i wanna go read a book now... enough of trying to write my life log on the blog.

mmhmm is there anything else to say? nah dont think so...

owh i went cycling. should have brought the church keys so i could have gone inside to play drums xD

goodbye my love

this morning i woke up at 9 plus.
it was a good sleep. i dreamt that i was running away with you
and we got caught because i wanted to wash my sandels.

haha. owh that reminds me i need to go and glue my sandals, they are coming out.
okay so i just put the rubber glue instead of the superglue. Astart brang not bad.
its 10.12pm now

we went to eat seng yi, love the kolo mee big and asing.
it was so much it became my brunch.

got the notice that leads came in for supa hands.
went over to school and started it.
POI religious sites. haha so intresting to work in a culture of different people.
careful not to step on the toes of anyone.

missed lunch, not really lah, i was still quite full.

then tried my hands at learning two new skills
call center and lead something.
i had to find the work email for some CEO of a swis venture capital lol.
and linkedin.. signed up fro something called RocketReach...
was abit weary of giving my phone number for them to send a verification message.
now they have my email (from FB log in) AND phone number! they could do so many things!

 after that it was about 4.30pm already
went over to jims car to fix the lock and door.
so happy that the green plastic bit helt with the UHU red gel.
and zip tied the white plastic bit
and wrapped the metal coil around it.. ah... i see how the metal coil keeps the bar towards the plastic bit

put back the door

then.. the rear left tire is flat.
had to fix that too.

while cleaning up the boot...
mira, nisa and kila came
mira helped change the tyre ..haha

then went home with iggy about.. close to 6?

chilled around, had dinner. they cooked ma la
 ate until... cant remeber what time..
wasn't too late.. about 8pm?

went downstaris to shop for car stuff..
bought a light..
wanted to buy a basin to put stuff (its so useful! when i was using kila's axia, when kok onn and i went to visit the fish market we could put it inside), radiator coolant, a strap to tie up all the loose water bottles, wiper fluid, battrey water.. haha so many things actually...

walked around for about an hour until 9pm.. then went over to popular to brows the megazines and books. mmhmm investopedia talks about auto-investing bots... i wonder how trusted they can be.

 then theres the self improvement section.
so many things on japanese stuff now. ikigai, kaizen, shinroku.. etc
and a korean thing also, something about looking into another person's eyes to see what they are feeling lol.

i miss looking into peoples eyes

you called me this afternoon when i was in the car fixing the door.
it was one of the most.. calming conversations i've ever had with you in a long time.

A: we are children of God, in highest ranks. our thoughts should be royal and regal. Not in an arrogant way, but not allowing ourselves to think in a repulsive manner

A: is really what i think to be right, always the right thing? what if others have a different view of it

A: sometimes.. haha i still do think of girls sometimes

A: yeah, its nice to be able to be lovely to everyone... i.. dont want to fear being lovely to people

Q: What kind of renovation does my mind need?
A; Alot, but i feel like the most important is relationships? claiming back the day? God? wow, i think there's a lot of tearing down and building up to be done.

Q: Do i find myself constantly complaining?
A: Yes and no. I don't like to be pessimistic. but sometimes i just only have negative thoughts.

Q: Am I jealous or envious of others and how their lives seem to be better than mine?
A: not really, i would like a new pair of flat running shoes and tights from the Adidas store though. but they're pricey and i dont need them. I can run in whatever i have now. But is it just material things. or are there more things that i envy of others? freedom? the ability to travel? hmm i dont know. never really thought i was a jealous person.

Q: Do you feel overwhelmed and defeated by how you view yourself?
A: nope. but sometimes. Sometimes i just lay in bed, without the strength to get out and do anything. But it's been better lately. like today =) and the past week. I hung out with Alex and daNiel for the Joseph musical. I drank few cups of boba tea: xing fu tang and daboba. all treated. treated to meals. yeah i think food is critical to my wellbeing. if i dont eat right, i just feel realllly sluggish.

wow this line hit me hard!

we cant change every thought we have, but we can identify the ones that are toxic and take steps to change those first.

looking forward to the next four days of:
1) testing my thoughts
2) capturing toxic thoughts
3) fixing my thoughts on Jesus
4) making a plan to put into practice

Q1: THink abou my most comon thoguths. How do they make me feel?
 A: i always think about task what i should need to get done and the things that i've not done. and it really really just clutters up my mind. i feel mentally drained and unable to think about being in the hear and now. but this morning was good. i was just immersed in what i was doing, jogging, gym, stretching.

Q2: In what area of my thought life do i need a renovation?
A: hmm, priorities and focus. purpose and meaning. daily activities...
ah, social media. facebook and youtube. i really need to stop watching it mindlessly.
and feeding my brain with junk.
i need to write more, to create more and be... more me
more me time. more .. think about thinking.
more serenity and silence and stillness without having anything running in my mind that i need to get this done or that done.

went to the gym for about an hour.
came back to do stretching for 30 minutes
while waiting for my breakfast to cool down.
milo doesn't need 30 minutes to cool, it was cold when i drank it,
along wit some hup seng biscuits from God knows when..
wanna finish off my food before i go off in.. three days time.

the body is a wonderful thing to live in
take good care of it and be present with it
feel the tensions in the ligaments when stretching
loosen out muscles by massaging trigger points
take time to breath and be in the hear and now,
don't rush

Find the melting point that breaks them down at a chemical level. But just before it ignites (or melt it in the absence of oxygen) a vacuum maybe? A metal sealed thick metal pipe.

Heat it up with energy.free energy would be the sun. Mirrors that focus a large area onto the metal pipe. Or solar panels that charge batteries that power heating coils.

Then extrude the molten plastic into moulds of useful items. I.e. Bricks, plant pots, wall panels, chairs and table parts..

Could make a whole school out of it.

And now with 3D printing... Gosh.. The possibilities.

Over dinner they talked alot about songs. Music. I couldn't really join in. As I don't have much of a musical or artist list.

What am I really focusing on?
If I could learn one new thing. Anything what would it be? What am I Intrested in?

Masters. I should focus on that and get that done. My masters.

Care for others, love as you are loved

In a good way. It isn't not having enough 'time for yourself' or not dealing with problems that need to addressed. But more of like... you'd just stop over thinking so much, there isn't the space and time for pitying oneself.

When you care for others, you'd realise... or maybe it's not even a conscious thing... that really, we are very blessed in our lives.

And blessing others is a secret to unlock.. happiness and blessings for one's own self too. But blessing others in itself isn't the source, least people lose the core reason of helping others, twisting it into a selfish thing: "I help others so I would feel like their saviour". No. Instead, "I help others because I was helped before, I was saved". That's the good news.

Help others to help yourself. But the means isn't in the ends. It's in the process.

Love.

God didn't just say "love others" fullstop. He said "love others as.... you love yourself"

Now how can one love others if they don't love themselves first and foremost. You can't pour an empty jug. So it isn't, 'giving in our all in life for the sake of others and denying ourselves of anything that could possibly be' selfish' '. It's... The 4th level: loving ourselves as how God loves us.

(the first three are: 1. Loving ourselves for our own sake, 2. Loving God for his blessings to us; 3. Loving God for who He is)

I always thought that level three was the ultimate goal. I stopped.. Loving myself.

Uncertainty of the future. We think until we despair because we had to go through so much to reach this point.

Judah was surrounded. Confused, not sure who to turn to. Feared for their lives. Things got from bad to worse they called out to God.

God do you not see the trouble I'm in, when will our help us.

This is what Isiah said to judah:
You have forgotten who God is

Have you not heard He is the everlasting God
Nations are like a drop in the bucket.
Like dust on a scale.
Nations will rise and fall
Assyria will come and it will replaced by another super power
It is God that raises, builds and tears them down

Look at the skies above, the stars, who created them? By his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one goes missing.

We think about the amazing things we've created over the years... I.e. The great Wall of China. Massive. Biggest structure ever built. No advance machinary. Just human ingenuity and strength..

The sun..
1.3 million earths in a sun..
And its not even the biggest star..

By God, not a single one is missing.

Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew our strength.

Tap into this strength for our lives.

God will allow us to go things that are beyond our own. We can go ahead in Boldness...

God says to us as a church.
Don't look to this experts and forecast.. Ultimately.. All strength comes from the Lord. Don't even depend on our own strength and ability..

Snapped his hamstring. Someone runs down.. Officials tried to stop him. No one is going to stop me from being with my son.

In life we may fall and falter.
But God, our heavenly father is always there. He will.. Carry us and bring us to the finishing line.

Intimacy, breakthrough. Draws us into  a Living and personal relationship with Him.
To know God is to know His strength. We need to... Know what it is like again.

In order to have Bold intimacy, we need to know God. If we don't know we will misunderstand Him. When we do that we misrepresent Him.

Slowly... Lose the ability to feel emotions. Empathy.. When people are laughing and feel joy that wells up in the inside.. Feel dry and fake a smile and laugh... When people cry and mourn, don't bat an eye and shed a tear...

I'd want to cry.. If I could. Cry more

Feel more... Be more... Affected by my actions and the consequences.

Movies have thier good and bad parts, things to learn from and maybe things that influence us too much. Chasing the culture, wanting to be unique.

Smartphone. Pa, WhatsApp... If only i could.. Just not own a phone by let my wife do the messaging for me :)

Let's look at the good things that a smart phone does... Claim it. Okay I've always talked about this topic, maybe it's time to finally move on :)

God... Are you really my lord? Or just my Saviour... Why don't I really Obey You. Is it because I don't really belive in You... Or I believe a twisted version of you.

Male.. Man should.. Uphold.. Erm.. Leadership. Claim authority and dominance. Females should.. Submit. But why? Who said so... Imagine a world where females were more authoritative in the house than the husband. What would that look like.

Psycology:
Females are more susceptible to metal issues regarding emotions. I.e. Bipolar?

Males are more.. Emotionless and one of the more dangerous ones is.. Anti-social personality.

PTSD, triggers.

I'm.. So scared to say anything that might trigger a memory flash of an event.

But... My life. Our life.. Isn't perfect.
Whom ever said that it would be.
Where did the problem really arise from?

When crystians claim that they are.. Spotless. Pure... Holy.. And.. Faultless?

That's when everything goes down hill.

woke up in citiel this morning.
my taikor came over to run a survery for tahlassemia peeps in kota belut.
had a good YA exchange last night, updated each other and was asked to moderate. man i'm so sloppy in this already. mark sent me to the hotel and it was a really good and devine talk. so nice to be able to be beside someone whose going through a similar.. but not same thing.

its not the same. me and her. him and his girl.
but yeah.. God you're not silent.

we are fearful of triggering our other halves. yes we have broken the trust and it might be a loooong time to mend. we need to be patient. show commitment? how would God heal this borkeness and transgression. how does one forgive. it's no a difference in values, its a difference in beliefs.

relationships are built on trust.

then after that picked up crystal from Shell plaza, had breakfast together. was asked if the break in nov for 9 months was going to be a yellow, red or green light.
"taking a break" and "breaking up" are two entirely different things

took a cream for a rash thats been spreading on my right hand's fingers. oiments didn't work on it. Betamethasone does. found out from mark that it's steroids. lol

breakfast with taikor's colleague Norita. suuuper nice lady.

waited for makr to come, around 2pm. sat at borinos. totally missed the post by Dr Colin about there being a fish talk by Casey today, realllly regret not seeing it and informing kok onn about it. cause they both love fish and research so much.

took the car to the mechanic otospa. nice place friendly and cheap. oil change etc. did a general check up RM630+ worth of repairs could be done. but yeah didn't go through with it. should bring jim's car here one day.

by the time it was done it was 5pm. Crystal and i went to Tanjun Lipat to have fruit juices. found out you cant walk from anjun selera to the stalls outside becasue of the fence. sat down, ate chiken wings and the sweetes corn (becasue of two spoonfool of sugar!)

the sun set. no sun set sky too cloudy. took a walk. been talking with crystal much much more nowadays. its so good to have her here beside. the purpose she came here was to spend time together. and if she cant do that, then why stay? fly back to johor? she had to go for dinner with Krys. Abel didn't let me join.. haha.. or well.. advised agaisnt it.. and it was good. it was wise... they manage to have their girl talk. and i think that's really .. really good...

sometimes doing the right thing isn't the easiest or most comfortable thing.

night time. came back. dropped her off. ate dinner with jim at fook fah. went to the gym.
now they've got a new rule: students cant use the pool and gym after 5 pm
the guard came up to me and asked if i was a student..

i looked at time.... (detroit came to my mind)

in a lower than usual voice... haha.. maybe it sounded more intimidating? lol

he let me in.

did about 30 minutes worth of weights.. good enough.

came back. shower. chat with crys.
type this blog entry... 10.41pm. barely 30 minutes to recount the whole day!
man this is a much more efficeint way to write a dairy.

probably gonna read something and then head to bed by 11pm.

gonna pick crystal up at 9am tmr! wohoo, its a new day! =D

Who is a Christian?

Why do you call yourself a Christian?
What does it mean to be a Christian?
What is following Christ?

Its not just a set of rules, regulations, precepts, tradition...

Its not even a philosophy

Is it a way of life?

It is.... A relationship.

Being born in a Christian family, being used to coming to church, rituals, singing, listening to sermons.. Its all possible without a relationship.

As long as you don't have a relationship with God... Your status as a Christian is... Questionable.

1 tesselonians 1:6

1. A Christian is someone whom is chosen by God.

It is not a human effort. It's not membership, charity, Good works. We can never reach God no matter what we do. Others try to find favour with God, try to please God.... But we can't.. We're not holy, we're sinful, and we'll never reach his benchmark.

Only when God himself reached out to mankind. Is it possible.

The selection is offered to us. As long as we don't choose Him back. It is incomplete. The transection is incomplete.

Offer and acceptance

Many are called, many chosen, but few respond.

2. A Christian is someone whom has responded to the Gospel.

2 Corinthians.. This I pass on to you, Christ died on the cross for our sons, was buried in a tomb and three days later He resurrected.

The core of Christianity.

3. A Christian is someone whom appreciates Christ above everyone and everything else...

Along with the suffering. Along with the hardships.

Our hardships aren't the end of our life. The final destination for our souls have only two places. Eternity with God or eternal separation.

Jesus is the Saviour

Because Jesus died and rose again.
We will follow after him in death and resurrection.

4. A Christian is someone that has a transformed life

They are so different from others.
Because they've repented. And changed from their old ways.  There's evidence of change and difference. You can see it in them. You can feel.

This is a man/lady of substance.

Your life is not like the ways of this world.
We don't party and celebrate like the rest of the people in this world. With alcohol, drugs and

try and try..

the long lost art of journaling
i used to write post really often.
my life used to be so different

but times have changed.
i no longer spend my nights reading and writing.

why has life changed so much within the last 4-6 years.
just half a decade. and i'm struggling.

yesterday i woke up at 5pm.
went for the last day of 40 days fast and prayer at skyline
the testimonies were amazing... a lost dog, rainbow, land title deeds being processed after 10 years.
gosh, do i need to recount them again over hear?

i'm so lazy to write again what i've needed to say.
but you know the more you repeat a story the more ingrain it gets in the head.
and the easier it is to live it out.

you dont need to love to feel belong,
or was it you dont nee to belong to feel loved?

gah i cant remember what people say to me,
cant remember wha people say on the pulpit,
cant rememebr what they say in camps
cant rememebr..

i cant rememebr anything anymore.

i told him that i would go to school later
i slept back. was tired from yesterday
perisa, drove krystina's car. its nice to be able to drive other peoples car

i think we're all struggling.
with our other halves. mark and i. long distance.
long distance really sucks.. did i look forward to nay goal of making it short distance?
maybe one day

Meaning in suffering

Viktor Frankl was a Jewish psychologist and philosopher who spent time in three different Nazi concentration camps. His life’s work was destroyed. He lost his wife, his parents, and years of his life. It’s not a surprise that a major theme of his work involved the inevitability of suffering. Every human suffers, and there is no way to avoid that, he said. But, he also believed that humans have the power to find meaning in that suffering. Palm oil takes up forest land. Forest land is under state and not federal. Find the sabah politicians to really stop more destruction. (should be easier to twist their arm instead of the other)

And Theresa did say we should try to understand what they're currently doing. I think it's wrong to sow hatred in children no matter the cause, school should be sowing eagerness for understanding and not bigotry.
