When i was a young Christian, I'll feel uncomfortable seeing someone wearing a Rolex or overpriced branded shoes. The world's idea of wealth and success (tainted by consumerism) probably isn't the same as God's Kingdom's definition of richness.
But I think this only applies to ones own self. I cant buy a rolex, but I shouldn't have any ill feelings for others if they do. Its true what you said, celebrate and be happy for others in their achievements and successes. Thats true love, void of jealousy.
Money is not evil in itself, the love of it and showing off to others with the intention of self pride is. And this, God teaches each of His precious children in His own time.
Give to God what's His, receive what He gives to us. Just as Jesus did. Tithe, for thats how God takes care of people whom dedicated thier lives to full time ministry. We answer to God, they too will answer to Him
God set us free. We are liberated from the standards of this world.
