chased down a thief

1.30.. my mom started shouting: "there's a man at our car!"
.. mhmm must have forgotten to lock the door last night...

so i ran out.. barefoot... and chased after the dude.. very easy to spot since he was wearing a red shirt... he ran trough the ally.. and was in the next neighborhood when i saw him... i i just ran across without caring about the cars..

we made some right and left turns.. then i have no idea where he disappeared to after a turn.... looked left looked right, he wasn't there.. he climbed the fence.. so i ran with him on the other side.. then he climbed into yuk chai..

so i climbed the fence.. hoping to short cut him.... and sure enough i saw him climb out of yuk chai the other side... this time i was closer to him so i ran.. and sprinted ... 1 meter away from him.. he looked behind, and ducked.. i couldn't stop, hit his crouched body, flew over him.. and made a roll

turned around garbed him with a red neck choke (thanks syanon for training submission grappling with me)

clamed him down, and started to talk to him. in BM

his name? sining bin adnan. from sabah. 41 years old.. currently looking for a job. used to work in a factory.. McD's and KFC wont employ him cause they want young kids. he told me he took RM3 frolm the car... a few coins dropped out along the way

told him about Christ .. gahhh so hard to tell it to him in BM .. something abt nabi Isa, Yesus, gereja.. ect... was super close to Grace Assembly .. wanted to take him there, but he didn't want to, said that they would be scared of him..

i had no money, i couldn't give him any food, so i just prayed for him. i really hope he can get a job.

he told me sorry for making my legs hurt, then we parted ways. i walked back limping. blisters on my feet. was worth it.

he stays in the pasar pagi at night. with a black shirt hanging there. i wonder when is the next time i'm going to meet him. and i wonder what i'll do if i meet another person like him.....

so, you caught him sinning...

(sining, sinning, geddit geddit?) =D

jokes aside, i think you did well to try to share the gospel with him... i believe you have shown him God's love and forgiveness in a very practical, experiential way... and i hope that this will really cause a change within him... so that he will not steal again, and maybe one day he will call on the name of Jesus and be saved...

that's from the spiritual point of view... from the socioeconomical point of view, this man represents a problem which is not easy to solve. giving him money or buying food for him may give him some relief for a short time; but the money will run out, and how many free meals can you afford to pay for?

he really needs to find a job... otherwise it's a choice between starvation and crime... sigh =(
