tinkers and techies

A tinker was originally an itinerant tinsmith, who mended household utensils.

taken from wikipedia, and i'm gonna stop there... yup one line description only, they rest of it seems to defame the word =P if you wanna know more, go look it up.. but well, techies on the other hand......

Techie is a term, derivative of the word technology, for a person who displays a great, sometimes even obsessive, interest in technology, high-tech devices, and particularly computers. Some techies express a disregard for any technology that could possibly be considered obsolete, even if the technology or process in question might only be considered obsolete within the techie community. Consequently, techies are also often early adopters. With the increased spending power of techies, a few media outlets exist that cater solely to them, most notably Wired, Slashdot, and, while it existed, TechTV. Geeks or nerds are often also considered to be techies; however, the reverse is not necessarily true and more people who would not be considered "geeks" are becoming techies, especially with the advancement of technology in recent years.
"Techie" is also used as a nickname (without pejorative connotations) for a student from a university with the name "Technology" in its title, such as Caltech, Georgia Tech, MIT, IIT, FIT and Virginia Tech.[citation needed]
"Techie" (slang) is also a generalized occupational title for stagehands, electricians, carpenters or other professional Stage Technicians in the Theatre and Film Industries.
In the recent years "Techie" slang is most commonly attached with professionals in the Information Technology sector which is the worlds most higly appreciated profession in terms of its financial returns for an individual and social status and large number of professionals in this job area. Mostly anyone with any designation like Software Engineer, Analyst, Project Manager, General Manager, Line Of Business Head, and all will be generally grouped under "Techie" label in the IT industry.

wires and plugs

alrite time for some up dates
been slacking for quite a while lately... not getting alot of jobs done
=P inilah yang dikatakan.. tidak mengamalkan nilai "amanah"

so well... went to jalan pasar the other day with joshua to get some electronics... boy do i love wires! looking for a 10A 500V fuse... its like.... impossible to find.. i still haven't found one yet

bought some items to make a privet circuit breaker box......
well for those who ain't got any idea what a circuitbreaker is....
it is that switch like thingy that flips/trips when there is a lightning or when any electrical appliances short circuit.. this prevents damage to the main electrical network.. it works kinda like a fuse.. just that you can use it over and over again... it does not burn.. it only trips (break the circuit)

ok so... why do you need a personal one?
cause.. in skool, you do not have access to the main power supply unit (PSU) .. its locked up in some hidden room... so lets say you plug in a radio that is spoiled and you "trip" the circuit... you don't have access to the PSU room to flip back up the switch.. then thats it.. you doom... you cant use that plug point anymore.. you've got to go borrow the uber long extension cord from scouts and get power from the next block....

so how do you overcome this problem? well.. you can find a stick and try to poke back up the tripped switch from the window of the PSU room... or you could have a circuit breaker OUSIDE the PSU room.. so that you can easily flip it back up..

how convenient eh? .. its not all that hard to wire it too

and also another news is.. scouts annual camp is over!
well.. for this camp... i'm glad to say that we had a uber sound system that provided us with alot of music .. =D

thanks to the skool and CF
the B208D is an awesome small speaker .. its compact, but packs a punch! while still sounding good... (well to me la)

and in this camp.. its safe to say that the test-pen became my favorite tool ... i can't believe i only owned one a few weeks back.. i should have bought this 5 years ago!!!

yeap.. it was a kool camp la.. had its ups and downs... pro and cons...
congraz to chuo shuan for organizing it.. you did alot of work to make it work.. good job

and we won second in volleyball! =D yea.. silver medal for me the benchie (the sub who sits on the bench..... like... forever) =P BUT .. the whole team got to play this year! ... =D so yeap.. happy

mmhmm what else is there?

SPM comming up... gotta buck up and studie yo
oh and you don't have to use the VDE cable for the B208D .... you can actually use a normal computer cable for the job.. it works the same! =D

uleung-goblin techie
(there's actually a difference in  the thickness of a wire and the quality of a plug head)

oh and i drank MOUNTAIN DEW today!!!!!!! how i missed this drink soooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you God for bringing it back in Malaysia!!!!!!
